I just got into trying to do distance running about a year and a half ago. Within 6 months of starting, I found out I needed foot surgery. I bounced back and did a couple more halves….and went back to the foot doctor last week. I don’t think I’m going to be able to run, at least not like I want to, ever again. My skeletal structure is conspiring against me, and this is the end. I’m not a good runner, and realistically, I always struggled to be over the 40% line in finishing. Still, I loved it, and now it’s gone. BUT there’s always something else to do. That’s what I’m telling myself now anyway. Chin up.
